The Germany's ex-chancellor, Helmuth Kohl, characterized the Hitler-Stalin Pact as being a "shameful disregard of the independence and the territorial integrity of Poland, the Baltic States and Romania", and condemned it. The Civic Media Association launched, through the ZIUA daily, a petition of condemning the Stalin-Hitler Pact. The petition will be submitted to the President and to the Romanian Parliament with a view to our country's adopting an official position to the horrors of the Soviet occupation beginning with 1939.
