The representatives of the secret services, of Justice and Parliament expressed satisfaction with their cooperation with the Interior Ministry structures in 2006. Still they agreed that dialogue and cooperation could improve.
President Basescu advised the Ministry should post on the website descriptions of officials' jobs, of the minister included, and of Police officials as well. The interior minister Vasile Blaga agreed: "In Germany the Police officials' job descriptions and wages are public information, which can be achieved in Romania too."
As for the Police Academy, the President demanded that the institution's destination should not change, because its obligation was to train policemen, but not lawyers, prosecutors or judges. He mentioned the need to adjust the Academy to for training policemen only and to focus on training "policemen with juridical knowledge, but not jurists with knowledge of Police." (...)
