Citizens of Bucharest didn't go elsewhere as they wanted to have a noisy party, with sophisticated cuisine, imposing shows of lights and fireworks, to celebrate our country's integration, December 31st, 2006, 23.59 hrs: 10, 9, ..., 2, 1! A Happy New Year! We are Europeans! Fireworks will be at the Universitate Square, at the Revolution Square, at Romexpo Exhibition Hall.
Members of the Government and European high officials will spend the night downtown Bucharest, at the Athenaeum and in the Revolution Square. The president of the European Parliament, Josep Borrell, European commissioner for Enlargement, Olli Rehn, European commissioner for Communication, Margot Wallstrom, Baroness Emma Nicholson, head of German Diplomacy, Frank Walter Steinmeier, Bulgarian minister of Foreign Affairs, Ivailo Kalfin and many other will be besides the Romanian PM and other members of his Cabinet.
