Last evening the National Theater in Bucharest hosted civil society awards. Civic Media Association, ZIUA and Academia Catavencu were awarded special prize for the "Solidarity for the Delta" campaign. Victor Roncea, ZIUA journalist and Civic Media representative, stated the award also belonged to the 150 organizations that have joined the initiative, as well as to thousand people who have signed international petition to save the Danube Delta. Roncea said the award was in president Basescu's honor, as the latter mission's was to carry out civil society action and stop Ukraine from building Bastroe canal. (L.I.)
