The European Union banned poultry import from Turkey as tests detected the avian flue virus. Authorities are waiting for lab analyses results on cases suspected of bird flu in Romania, informed the European Commission. The Commission's decision does not go for import of meat products made at high temperature, as such procedure destroys the virus. As for Romania, the EU official said tests did not confirm avian flu virus and EU did not intend to ban import. Brussels officials announced it after Hungary, Ukraine, Poland, Greece, Austria and Kosovo had banned import of poultry, meat products and animals from Romania. (...) (L.P.)
