The PSD (Social-Democrat Party) and the PC (Conservative Party) expelled those members who expressed their support for suspended President Traian Basescu publicly. The four sanctioned MPs and one Liberal wrote a letter expressing support for Traian Basescu and mentioning they had been wrong to enter interest games and vote for suspending the President.
PSD members Teodor Nitulescu and Constantin Amarie and Conservatives Constantin Gheorghe and Romeo Hanganu were expelled from their parties. As for Dumitru Becsenescu, also registered as Conservative MP, the PC said he had left the party in 2006. The same goes for another author of the letter, Liviu Almasan. Central party leaders claimed he was not in the database of the National Liberal Party because of being a political trotter. (...) (V.D., R.A.)
