PM Tariceanu said last Wednesday that he had "certain news" about President Basescu's decision on the suspended defense minister Teodor Atanasiu, but added it was not the news he was expecting. He suggested the President wouldn't revoke his own decree on suspending minister Atanasiu. The PM wouldn't make more comments on a matter "up to the President exclusively."
He claimed: "I don't want to cause certain institutional disputes." Tariceanu emphasized that, as a PM, he could not be indifferent to what happened with Romanian ministers. He admitted he was waiting for a political decision from President Basescu. But as there was no such thing, the PM mentioned he was ready to name someone to replace minister Atanasiu in 45 days' time. (R.G.)
