CNSAS (National Council for Research on the Communist Secret Service Archive) member Constantin Ticu Dumitrescu said last Saturday that the CNSAS did not get to the records on the 'big fish'. He mentioned the CNSAS was to open more than 1,7 million records and a few hundreds were on Romanian MPs. He commented: "This institution hasn't reached the big fish yet. We have now got this opportunity. I have promised to have a press conference in case it does not happen."
When asked about what the 'big fish' meant, he mentioned it meant MPs and outstanding public personalities. He also claimed that the CNSAS had mostly handled ex Securitate (Communist Secret Service in Romania) collaborators, but not "generals and colonels" so far. (...) (R.A.)
